Founded in 1957, Choir School has brought generations of Christians together through the beautiful spirit of music.
This weekend of singing, fellowship, fun, playing, eating, and learning is foundation to the development of both young musicians, and young Christians.

Spencer Belyea (he/him)
Spencer Belyea is a highly regarded conductor with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education (Vocal Studies concentration) from Mount Allison University and a Bachelor of Education degree from St. Thomas University. Trained in conducting and sacred music at the Royal School of Church Music in England, Spencer represented New Brunswick at a National Conductors Seminar. In 2019, he received the NB Choral Federation Distinguished Achievement Award for his exceptional contributions to choral music in the province. In 2023, Spencer's community choir, The Saint John Chorale placed first at the National Music Festival. As a charter life member of the Canadian Choral Conductors Association and the first president of the NB Choral Federation, Spencer Belyea has been a driving force in shaping and advancing the choral landscape in New Brunswick.
Dr. Joel Tranquilla (he/him)
Dr. Joel Tranquilla, a conductor and music educator renowned for his versatile musicianship and innovative programming, proudly serves as the Artistic Director of the Halifax Camerata Singers and Chorus Master of Symphony Nova Scotia. Returning to his Maritime roots, Joel is also the Director of Music at Grace United Church in Dartmouth. With degrees from Mount Allison University, the University of Michigan, and Michigan State University, where his doctoral research focused on Canadian choral-orchestral works, Joel brings a wealth of knowledge to his roles. Formerly the Director of Choral Activities at Trinity Western University, he led the TWU Chamber Choir on international tours and held leadership positions with the Canadian Chamber Choir. Joel's impact on the choral scene extends nationwide, having conducted various ensembles, founded the Windsor Choral Festival, and served as a sought-after adjudicator and clinician.
